Web paintings are composed of
connecting triangles spread on top of an abstract background.
The interrelationship of triangles becomes
a net or fabric that is both regular and irregular. The resulting pattern
has a flow; everything is related but in a skewed way.
Some triangles are big, some small; some dark,
some light; some narrow, some wide.
The relationship of the web to the background is
critical. Various shapes and colors emerge from
the background to add another dimension
to the web paintings.
What do the web paintings mean? At a minimum,
they portray the interconnectedness of all things.
There is a pattern, even if irregular, to the
web paintings, and in my view, to life itself.
