Willoughby Walling resided
in Brookline Massachusetts. Mr. Walling passed away in February 2012 having painted for the previous twenty-two years.
Although a self-taught artist, Mr. Walling took classes at the
school of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Massachusetts College of
Arts. Mr. Walling had 10 solo exhibitions in Boston, New York,
and Maryland since 1998.
Prior to becoming a painter, Mr. Walling was a fund-raiser, a high
level government official, and an administrator of schools for high
school dropouts. Educationally, Mr. Walling earned three graduate degrees
(MBA from Harvard Business School, '75; CAS from Harvard Graduate School
of Education, '73; and MDiv. from Union Theological Seminary, '72)
and a BA from Stanford, '65.
In 2008, Mr. Walling self-published a 140 page book, "Art and What Matters: Musings of a Practicing Painter."
